Thread: Word Problem: A vehicle is traveling....

Please help, I'm not sure if this is the right place or what the formula is but here is the question...
An SUV is traveling 86 miles per hour. The car in front of the SUV is traveling at 55 miles per hour. The car is 70 feet in front of the SUV. How many seconds would it take for the SUV to hit the car in front of it?

If anyone can answer this can u please give me the formula as well? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

same direction -> solve (86miles/h-55miles/h)t=70feet
opposite direction -> solve (86miles/h+55miles/h)t=70feet
