# Math Help - Grade 8 Ratio

I have this problem that says:

The school Mrs Jonono's son goes to has a staffing ratio of 2:40 (Teachers to learners).

5.1 Write the ratio in it's simplest form ( $1:20$ )
5.2 If there are $1260$ learners in the school, how many teachers are there?
5.3 If the school employs $7$ more teachers, what is the new teacher : pupil ratio?

I don't understand the last two.

Thanks.

5.2) The ratio is saying that for per one teacher there are twenty pupils. If you know how many times 20 goes into 1260 then that will be the number of teachers

5.3) The new ratio will be $(n+7): 1260$ where n is the number of teachers which you worked out in part 5.2
