Simple Algebra Question
Hi Everyone,

I was hoping for some help on the following problem

44000 * (1.03)^x = 50000 * (1.02)^x

What does X equal?

You can simplify the equation to

$\left( \frac{1.03}{1.02} \right)^x=\frac{25}{22}$

You can use a logarithm to finish solving from here.

$a^x = b$

$\log(a^x) = \log(b)$

$x \log(a) = \log(b)$

$x = \frac{\log(b)}{\log(a)}$
