    finding the equation

    The points A(4,3) B(-3,1) and C(1,-5) determine a triangle ABC. What is the equation of the line containing the median from A to BC.

    The midpoint of BC is
    (x, y) = \left ( \frac{-3 + 1}{2}, \frac{1 + -5}{2} \right ) = (-1, -2)

    So construct the line that passes through point A and (-1, -2).
