I'm really having trouble with 3 word problems.
I won't post all three in one thread, but here's the first one.

Question: A golfer hits a ball off the tee at 42m/s. The flag is 183m from the tee in the centre of the green, and the green is round with a radius of 9m. Assume the ball went in the right direction.

Did it land on the green? For this problem use the quadratic function:

y= x- 9.8x² --------------------------> (so that's y=x-9.8² OVER v²)
......... v²

Where x is the horizontal distance, y is the height of the ball above the ground, and v is the initial velocity of the ball.

Here's what I drew on my paper (remade it online to show you guys)
Assuming the golfer hit the ball directly toward the t, it will be on the green as long as it goes y= 183- 9= 174 meters. Since you are given that v= 42 m/s, your formula becomes $174= \frac{x- 9.8x^2}{(42)^2}$.
