i have to work this out, its a quadratic equation:

x^2+8x+16=0
would the brackets be - (x+4) (x+4) because 4x4=16 and 4+4=8???

Can't you check your answer yourself simply by expanding it!?

(I noticed that you've started studying calculus. Fact: Algebraic competency - eg. doing things like what I have suggested - will be expectd and assumed by your teacher).
