    [SOLVED] Grouping numbers

    Without grouping symbols, the expression 2 * 3 ^3 + 4 has a value of 58. Insert grouping symbols in the expression 2 * 3 ^3 + 4 to produce the value 4374.

    E.g. 2 * (3 ^3 + 4) = 2 * (27 + 4) = 2 * (31) = 62

    Thanks.

    Hello, Satish!

    Without grouping symbols, the expression 2 * 3 ^3 + 4 has a value of 58.

    Insert grouping symbols in the expression 2 * 3 ^3 + 4 to produce the value 4374.
    What did you try? .It doesn't take long to find it.

    To get number in the thousands, we need an exponential.

    Since 3^3 gives us only 27, try: 3^{3+4} \:=\:3^7 \:=\:2187 . . . . There!

    Answer: .4374 .= .2 * 3^(3+4)
