Thread: Books on vector calculus

I am a first year engineering student. Please tell me any books that will make me understand and grasp some of the things we do with vectors. I am looking for books that talk about vectors, such as matrices, proofs, etc. Any books that u thought were good, please tell me too, i appreciate it. Thank you.

Here is the book that I would suggest to anyone: Vector Calculus by Thomas H. Barr.

If you need more on matrices look at Linear Algebra by Larry Smith.

Then there is the old favorite is Introduction to Vector Analysis by Davis & Snider.

Crowell: Books <-- this book covers the linear algebra with an aim to how it is used in multivariate calculus. it's not too abstract, but it is sufficently mathematically sophisticated. it has some nice pictures, too. it's calc 2-ish...
