    Quadratic Functions

    Hey everyone. I've just started A-level maths and I'm a bit stuck on Quadratic Functions. Wondered if anyone could help me.
    The question I dont get is:

    Expand and simplify the function:

    y=7+(3x+1)

    Thanks

    Re: Quadratic Functions

    What have you tried?
    To expand (3x+1)^2, use the (important) special product (a+b)^2=a^2+2ab+b^2 and afterwards simplify.
