    equation of second degree

    Given : mx^2 - 2(m-1)x +m -7 = 0 where m is non-zero parameter
    1) calculate m so that the roots of the equation exist
    2)calculate m so that the roots of the equation are opposite
    3)can these roots be reciprocals ?

    Something missing isn't there? What have you done yourself on this?

    (An "equation of second degree" is also called a "quadratic equation". Do you know the quadratic formula?)
