    How much money did they bring

    Hello!

    I don't know how to solve this, and would appreciate some help to get started.

    Two pokerplayers, A and B, has lost an equal amount of money.
    A has lost \frac{2}{9} and B \frac{1}{5} of the amounts that they brought. B had broght 200 dollars more then A.

    How much money did they bring?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Re: How much money did they bring

    Let "a" be the amount of money that A brought and let "b" be the amount of money that B brought. Then A lost \frac{2}{9}a1 and B lost \frac{1}{5}b dollars. And, we are told, those are equal:
    \frac{2a}{9}= \frac{b}{5}.

    We are also told that "B brought 200 dollars more than A":
    b= a+ 200.

    Solve those two equations for a and b.
