one more question say with g(x) if i factord the negative g(x)= -|x-8| would it be the same as G(x) = |-x + 8|

Absolutely not. g(x) <= 0 and G(x) >= 0

|x-8| = |-1|*|-x+8| = 1*|8-x| = |8-x|
