Here is a huge hint: f(x)=-c(x-1)(x-4)~c>0.

Can we not just use the fact that a parabola is symmetrical? We are told that f(x)\leq~u for all x...

It's a matter of symmetry. The parabola is symmetric about its axis which, here, is a vertical line passing through the vertex. So what is the x coordinate of the vertex?

No! What is the midpoint between (1,0)~\&~(4,0) the intercepts?
    Can you average 1 & 4?

    The midpoint is (2.5,0).
There is only one in that list that will work.
    What is it?

If you have not had the full range of basic secondary mathematics, why would you expect to understand SAT mathematics questions? After all, the SAT measures readiness for college level work.

Yeah I do understand I must improve those fields. But I really need some guidelines/helps/tips , I set you a message asking about that.

Please understand that this is not a tutorial service. We simply cannot provide instructional services. There are sites on the web that are setup to do just that, for a fee. This is a free help service. That means we help you with what you have already done in lectures but may not fully grasp. We do not provide instruction on new material.
