AlgebraII Help, Please Give Some Advice

Hi. I have 20 days until school starts (I'm going to be a sophomore, in the US). I'm going to learn AlgebraII, and challenge the class to see if I can skip it to Pre-Calculus. How should I go about learning AlgebraII? I don't think this will be too hard for me, if I'm dedicated. I have some materials with me, like, old college books from relatives and things like that. The books I have are, "Practical Calculus For Home Study" By Palmer, "Intermediate Algebra" By Hubbard Robinson, "Schaum's Outlines: Trigonometry (fourth edition)" by Moyer and Ayers, "Algebra And Trigonometry (third edition)" By Gary Rockswold, and "Student's Solutions Manual" which is a solutions book to "Algebra And Trigonometry." So, how should I go about this? I need to learn it, so I can pass the test I'm going to challenge it. Could anyone possibly help me in the next 20 days, and tutor me through emails and what not? It would be really nice. The reason I'm going to challenge the class is because I want to be in Pre-Calculus this year, and I'm very determined to do this. I'm sure the next 20 days is enough time to learn it. A course that is (my HS goes by trimesters) 3 trimesters long would be about 90 hours in total, while AlgebraII is only 2 trimesters long. In the next 20 days I have around 350 hours (subtracting sleep and what not). So, please help me. I need to start this fast.

    Hi rudolph,

Well, this site is primarily a question and answer type of site. We do, on occasion, solve problems in great detail and do a little teaching along the way. But noone has the time to teach, say, a topic from an intermediate algebra text. We're here if you get stumped while doing homework or whatever, and we try to get you back on track with hints and suggestions if not the entire solution. We try not to do all the work for you. Rather, we engage you in such a way that you can think through the problem by taking one of our helpful hints.

Most of the members here are students, teachers, professors or other professionals who have a particular set of math skills. We are all volunteers and have lots of other responsibilities.

My suggestion to you is to find a good tutorial site on the Internet and pace yourself.

Try Virtual Math Lab - Intermediate Algebra

There are many others, but this one seems to meet the requirements you talked about.

Good luck. You must be pretty skilled in Algebra if you want to jump right into PreCal.

Alright, thank you! Is this all? When and if I ever need help I'll just ask here. Do you think my text books on hand will help me any?

Well, kind of. Lol. The 'particular hw problem that I have a question with' is AlgebraII itself. Not any specific ones though. I'm pretty good at algebra, I'm just not sure what they teach in AlgebraII, or what I should be expecting. That's why I came here, to see if I could learn what will probably be on the test and what the course would usually teach me.

the class name of AlgebraII means different things to different schools so it too hard to define or answer that. the best thing to do here will always posting a particular problem showing your steps and particular questions.

Yes but, I'm not learning from my school. This is completely independent study. So, I am not sure what my school teaches in AlgebraII. I would imagine it just being more advanced algebraI... With some new concepts.

Lol. I know an AlgebraI teacher from my school districts middle school. I'll ask him for help, he probably knows what is taught in the high-school class.
