Math Help - Where did I go wrong?

1. Where did I go wrong?

Ok here is the problem

9x^3 - 7x^2 + 4x^2 - x + 4x^3 - 3x^2

I got 13x^3-6a-x

but the answer is 13x^3-x

I got 13x^3-6a-x <--- where does the -6a come from?

but the answer is 13x^3-x <--- if this is correct then the original term reads:
9x^3 - 7x^2 + 4x^2 - x + 4x^3 + 3x^2
...

3. Re: Where did I go wrong?

Sorry im sorry the 6a was just 6x^2

My answer still is 13x^3-6x^2-x

but it reads on the book 13x^3-x

And i said the same thing about it would have to be + 3x^2 for the answer to be 13x^3-x

Well my class is tommorrow so i am going to tell this to my teacher.

If you've $9x^3 - 7x^2 + 4x^2 - x + 4x^3 - 3x^2$ then $13x^3-6x^2-x$ is fine.
