$\displaystyle a$=
What I tried was cancel out the denominators from both sides then solve for a.
$\displaystyle 4a-6a+30=20$
$\displaystyle -2a=-10$
$\displaystyle a=5$
I don't think I got this right need help solving it. Thanks.
$\displaystyle \frac{4a}{a-5}-6=\frac{20}{a-5}$
which means $\displaystyle \frac{4a}{a-5}$ is 6 bigger than $\displaystyle \frac{20}{a-5}$
$\displaystyle \frac{4a}{a-5}-\frac{20}{a-5}=6$
$\displaystyle \frac{4a-20}{a-5}=6$
factor the numerator
$\displaystyle \frac{4(a-5)}{a-5}=6$
