1. ## Equation Problem

$a$=

What I tried was cancel out the denominators from both sides then solve for a.
$4a-6a+30=20$
$-2a=-10$
$a=5$
I don't think I got this right need help solving it. Thanks.

2. ## Re: Equation Problem

Nevermind, that's wrong hahahaha

There seems to be no real solutions.

$\frac{4a}{a-5}-6=\frac{20}{a-5}$

which means $\frac{4a}{a-5}$ is 6 bigger than $\frac{20}{a-5}$

$\frac{4a}{a-5}-\frac{20}{a-5}=6$

$\frac{4a-20}{a-5}=6$

factor the numerator

$\frac{4(a-5)}{a-5}=6$

No solution
