Hello,

I assume that your function is:

$f(x) = x^2$

To calculate f(x+2) you have to plug in the term (x+2) instead of x into the given equation:

$f(x+2)+1 = (x+2)^2+1 = x^2+2\cdot 2 \cdot x + 2^2 + 1 = \boxed{x^2+4x+5}$
