the question: " given x > -2 and x < 9, where x is an integer, which of the following is true?"
My answer and the given answer is in the attachment.
I gave it some thought and here is my reasoning as to why the given answer could be correct.
condition A : x > -2
-1 is > -2 and is the absolute 'minimum' integer value that fulfills condition A. -2 and -3 do not fulfill condition A.
therefore x is greater or equals to -1
condition B: x < 9
8 is < 9 and is the absolute 'maximum' integer value that fulfills condition B. 9 and 10 do not fulfill condition B.
therefore x is lesser or equals to 8.
conclusion given answer fulfills conditions A and B.
is this reasoning correct?
