$\displaystyle\frac{x}{5x-6}-\frac{3x}{2x-5}=\frac{x(2x-5)-3x(5x-6)}{(5x-6)(2x-5)}=$
$\displaystyle =\frac{-13x^2+13x}{10x^2-37x+30}$

Hello, Sasha!

Don't know what "your technique" is . . . but it's wrong.

Quote:

$\frac{x}{5x-6} - \frac{3x}{2x-5}$

We need a lowest common denominator
. . so we "convert" the fractions to the LCD.

$\frac{x}{5x-6}\cdot{\color{blue}\frac{2x-5}{2x-5}} - \frac{3x}{2x-5}\cdot{\color{blue}\frac{5x-6}{5x-6}} \;\;= \; \;\frac{x(2x-5) - 3x(5x-6)}{(5x-6)(2x-5)}$

. . $= \;\frac{2x^2 - 5x - 15x^2 + 18x}{(5x-6)(2x-5)} \;=\;\frac{-13x^2 + 13x}{(5x-6)(2x-5)} \;\;= \;\;\boxed{\frac{-13x(x-1)}{(5x-6)(2x-5)}}$
