    Shading and fraction of KG

Guys I need help with this, I do not understand this..

Sometimes it says shade 0.X of a shape.

Now I did a practice paper and one question was there are 10 squares it says shade 0.7 of this shape? What do I do?

    Second it says

a person buys some stuff add the total.

    Apples cost 2 per KG
    Oranges 0.34 each
    Bananas 2.40 per KG

    A person buys

    1 KG of apples

    2 oranges

    3 kg bananas
    -
    4

I don't know how many Bananas the person buys how I work that out?

    Thanks !

    0.7 = 7/10 so you shade in 7/10 of the 10 squares

You should ask your teacher if you don't get this bit.

    Oranges 0.34 each

    4 ???

The question doesn't ask how many bananas are bought so you needn't work it out. You are given quantities and the price per quantity - it's addition.

No it 3/4 kg Bannans, it gives it as a fraction.

Second what about if the shape does not have 10 squares, what if it has 15, I need to know the method please..

    Thanks

If 1kg of bananas is 2.40 how much will 0.75kg (which is 3/4 of 1kg) cost?

    0.7*number of squares

    Thanks[/QUOTE]
