Miles per Hour into miles per second

Okay so I was never good at math. I suck, actually. Real bad. I've been trying to figure out how to convert miles per hour into miles per second, but I can't get it right. It's not homework, but I need to know... =/

So, my question is:

If an object can travel a distance of 250 miles per hour, how many seconds would it take for that object to travel 47.1 miles?

Also, if you could, would it be possible to give me the equation you used? Thanks in advance!

There are 3600 seconds in an hour so your object can travel 250/3600 miles in 1 second.

Therefore it will travel 47.1 miles in (250/3600) x 47.1 seconds.
