Math Help - Primary 6 problem sum 3

1. Primary 6 problem sum 3

Mr Tan had some bags in his shop. 4/5 of them were Mizuno brand, 3/4 of the remainder were Puma brand and the rest were Reebok brand.

Types of bags Amount earned per bag
Mizuno $12 Puma$15
Reebok $8 The table above shows the amount he earned per bag. The ratio of the number of Mizuno bags sold to the number of Puma bags sold to the number of Reebok bags sold was 2:3:5. If he sold 1/3 of the bags altogether and earned$1635, how many Puma bags did he have at first?

Start by letting $n$ be the number of Puma bags sold. Then $2n/3$ is the number of Mizuni bags sold and $5n/3$ is the number of Reebok.

So The amount earned is:

$12(2n/3)+15n+8(5n/3)=1635$

Now solve for $n$, and multiply by three to get the initial stock of Puma.
