    How to find the value of two complementary angles

    Two angles are complementary.

    Two angles are complementary. The sum of the measure of the first angle and half the second angle is 68.5 degrees. Find the measures of the angles:

    What is the measure of the smaller angle?
    What is the measure of the other angle?

    Lets call the two angles A and B.

    From your information

    A + B = 90

    and

    A + B/2 = 68.5

    Now solve.
