# Log equation from acoustics.

Log equation from acoustics.
Hi, I'm doing a diplomamin acoustics and I need to know how to deal with a certain mathematical situation. Without going into too much detail I just need to know how rearrange an equation such as y equals log x plus 1 over x, so that x is the subject. The log is base 10.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're asking to solve y = log_{10}(x) + 1/x for x? It can't be done.

Do you mean y = log((x+1)/x) or y = log(x) + (1/x).

Your lack of clarity has possbily led to you being given the wrong answer.

My apologies, it was supposed to be y = log(x) + (1/x)
