Thread: Haven't done algebra in a while

Forgot some rules when simplifying sqrt's and powers. I wrote the problem down on paper for easier visualization. Help? Please...

I just need to simplify the equation a little further. We can just use a variable x for the answer.

The first one isn't actually an equation, but I can't find any way to simplify either of these unless there are other relationships between the variables.
