# Math Help - Rational Exponents.

1. ## Rational Exponents.

i was out sick on the days we covered this also.

11.) 27^1/3
12.) 4^-1/4
14.) (-243)^4/5
16.) (4/9)^3/2
20.) p^-1/5
21.) x^-6/11
22.) X^2/3 / x^1/4
23.) y^-1/2 / y^1/4
24.) n^1/3 / n^1/6 * n^1/2
25.) 12 on the square root of 64
26.) 8 on the square root of 49a^8 b^2

Thanks.

3. Please only post one or two questions per thread. It also helps if you show what you think is right.

In this case you're expected to use simple power relations like $27 = 3^3$ and the laws of exponents which are easily found by searching online

4. It seems like you need to learn the basics about exponents, like for example:

$x^{y/n}$ can be rewritten as $(\sqrt[n]{x})^y$;

$x^{-y}$ can be rewritten as $\frac{1}{x^y}$;

$\frac{a^x}{a^y}$ can be rewritten as $a^{x-y}$

and so on.

To summarise: learn the basic exponential laws, and you'll have no problems with this worksheet(I presume it is a worksheet of some sort) at all.
