    Intro to Logs - Answer Check

    Hey guys just wanted to get some feedback on this answer I got for this problem. My solutions don't really make sense with the context of the word problem so I'm wondering if I've done something incorrect.

    Problem:
    1.
    \log_{2}1
    = \log_{2}(2^0)
    = 0

    2.
    \log_{2}10 000
    =\log_{2}10^4
    =\log_{2}(2^{10/3})^4
    =\log_{2}(2^{40/3})
    =40/3

    Thanks for checkin!

    the first one seems right to me

    but the second one 10 \approx 2^{\frac{10/3}} so \log_210^4 \approx 40/3

    Of course, as BAdhi says, that is only approximate while the first is exact.

    Hi Substince,
    Problem 2
    log base2 (10000) = x
    2^x =10^4
    change to base 10
    xlog2 = 4 log 10
    x= 4/ log2
