1. ## Intro to Logs - Answer Check

Hey guys just wanted to get some feedback on this answer I got for this problem. My solutions don't really make sense with the context of the word problem so I'm wondering if I've done something incorrect.

Problem:
1.
$\log_{2}1$
$= \log_{2}(2^0)$
$= 0$

2.
$\log_{2}10 000$
$=\log_{2}10^4$
$=\log_{2}(2^{10/3})^4$
$=\log_{2}(2^{40/3})$
$=40/3$

2. the first one seems right to me

but the second one $10 \approx 2^{\frac{10/3}}$ so $\log_210^4 \approx 40/3$

3. Of course, as BAdhi says, that is only approximate while the first is exact.

Problem 2
log base2 (10000) = x
2^x =10^4
change to base 10
xlog2 = 4 log 10
x= 4/ log2
