    Factoring?

    Factor the following:

    (x^4-x^3-x+1) / (x^2-2x+1) ...

    It is easy to see that...

    \displaystyle x^{4}-x^{3}-x+1= (x-1)\ (x^{3}-1) = (x-1)^{2}\ (x^{2}+x+1)

    \displaystyle x^{2}-2 x+1= (x-1)^{2}

    ... so that...
