    Post One plus the product of four and the number is seven times the number.

    One plus the product of four and the number is seven times the number . Find the number .

    I don't understand clearly the problem so that I can't solve it , Help me !!! thanks

    Hi there hoanghai549, that is quite a mouthful,

    I decoded it as \displaystyle 4x+1=7x

    Any other takers?

    Call the unknown number \displaystyle x.

    "One plus the product of four and the number, is seven times the number."

    \displaystyle 1 + 4x = 7x.

    Solve for \displaystyle x.
