what percent of the lease/maintenance would the new lease amounts be?

    Need help here.........

    company expenses =$500,000 Lease/maintenance portion is 25%

The lease for Company 2 makes up 18% of the lease/maintenance portion of the expenses. Next year the taxes on lease are due to increase by $200 for every $2500 of the lease amount. If all other lease/maintenance costs remain the same, what percent of the lease/maintenance would the new lease amounts be?

And if you dont mind explain to me how you got your answer.....thank you

O.k. this should be pretty easy then.

Start by working out 18% of $500,000. What do you get?

Great work, so what is the additional tax if you took $200 for every $2500 of this $90000?

19.4%......but where I ran into the issue was trying to figure within the 25%.....My thought was I had to figure within the 25% somehow..I cannot wrap my mind around this for some reason.......

so we figured the original amount 18% in dollars and then added the new and then just figured what % that would be out of the total for the year...

So the % of expenditures will change for the year as well to 27%...Is that correct?

so the lease portion would be 19.4 of 27% next year.....correct?

i think i am getting it............you have been a tremendous help!!!
