    Rational or Irrational?

Hi! This is another one of my grade 8 questions.

Is 2,1 recurring a rational or irrational number?

    Thanks!

A rational number can be expressed as a fraction a/b where a and b are integers (whole numbers). They are whole numbers and decimals which are finite or repeat a sequence.

An irrational number is one that is not rational.

Yes I am working on rational and irrational numbers, I would just like to know if his particular figure is rational or irrational.

All recurring decimals are rational so 2.111... is rational (it can be written as 19/9)
