1. ## Inequalities: Help rearranging and simplifing

I'm really stuck on an exercise.

6 - (x/4) > 14

i know what the answer is, but cannot get there. I'm getting confused and mixed up on the sign rearrangements over the equals sign

any help would be greatly appreciated

2. $6-\frac{x}{4}>14$

Take 6 from both sides

$-\frac{x}{4}>8$

Multiply both sides by 4

$-x>32$

Multiply both sides by -1. Note the inequality changes!

$x<-32$

3. Or....

$\displaystyle\ 6-\frac{x}{4}>14\Rightarrow\ 6-14>\frac{x}{4}\Rightarrow\ -8(4)>x$
