Thread: Help-Factoring

3 problems -

Remainder Theorem is me just trying to find the quotient and remainder?
I am having a Brain Freeze and i just dont know how to factor these ?

So if anyone can do it step by step id GREATLY appreciate it.

Factor - x^3 + 3x^2 -4

Factor- x^3 -7x^2 + 14x - 8

x³ + 3x² -4

using the factor theorem f(a) = 0 then (x - a) is a factor

try 1 (you can pick any factor of 4)

f(1) = 1 + 3 - 4 = 0 so (x - 1) is factor now we do long division using that first factor

omg i cant believe i didnt use that method ... wow ... Thanks you just saved me HOURS of dumb thinking lol i was actually trying to factor it ... THANKS!
