    Volume of Proportional Rectangular solids

    The volumes of two rectangular solids having the same proportions are 250 and 128. if one edge of the larger solid is 25 in length, what is the length of the corrisponding edge on the smaller solid?



    I am having trouble trying to solve the width and height for the larger rectangle. I think I need to do this to help find the length of the shorter rectangle. Is this the way I should be going about it or am I doing it all wrong.

    let V_1 be the smaller volume and L_1 the smaller length

    V_2 be the larger volume and L_2 the larger length

    \frac{V_1}{V_2} = \frac{(L_1)^3}{(L_2)^3}
