What are you trying to do? Find the values of x and y? If so, solve for x in the first one, and then substitute that value into the second equation. This will give you y. From here, just substitute the y into either one of the original two equations to get x.

Also, if the problem asks you to solve it by Cramer's rule, then use Cramer's rule.
