    Simplify

    Can I cancel these out?

    (-1+x)/(x-1)

I cannot remember if I can do this? If I put a number in for x I get the same values so they will give me one. So I believe that I can with out any problems. I am just having a brain fart today.

    Thank you

    Yes, (-1+x)=(x-1)

    take -3+x=4 for example

we know the answer of this is 7.

    x-3=4

    The answer remains 7.
