    Parabola Question

    Is the graph of y = square root of x a parabola? Why or why not?

    Emakarov's suggestion does not quite answer that question. If you solve for x, x= y^2 which is a parabola. But the graph of y= \sqrt{x} is NOT a parabola. It is only half a parabola.
