What have you tried? 4. Just substitute in 6 where ever there is an x. Then solve. 5. The same thing, where ever there is an x, substitute in 3 and for y, substitute in 2.

They are not correct. Whenever there is a number beside a letter, it means multiply. So for number 4 it's $\displaystyle 3 \times x \times (x-2)$

Hi Yes the first one is correct at 72. For the second you are almost there, what you should have is: $\displaystyle \frac{4x-y}{3x-y} = \frac{(4 *3)-2}{(3*3)-2} = \frac{12-2}{9-2} = \frac{10}{7} \equiv 1\tfrac{3}{7} \equiv 1.429$ Hope this helps
