    hi, this is my question:
    solve

    2+3x+5(x-1)=7X-1?
    would i do:
    2+3x+5x-5=7x-1

    8x-3=7x-1
    x-3=-1
    x=2??

    if i am wrong could you please let me know where i have gone wrong! and if im right could you also let my know if its right!

    Your answer is correct, but more importantly YOU can check by plugging back into the original equaition. Notice that
     2+2(2)+5(2-1)=13 and
     7(2)-1=13
