I just need confirmasion that the answer to the following is 4.6hours.

Jimmy drove to his cabin on the lake and
back. It took 0.6 hours longer to go there
than it did to come back. The average speed
on the trip there was 46 km/h. The average
speed on the way back was 52 km/h. How

many hours did the trip there take?

Ok, look here:

Let the time taken for the return trip be h.

The time for the go trip is then (h+0.6).

The go distance is given by Speed x Time = 46(h+6)

The return distance is the same and is = 52h

Since they are equal, we have:

46(h+0.6) = 52h

46h +27.6 = 52h

27.6 = 6h

h = 4.6 hours

You need to trust in your abilities. The book/solution could have made a mistake or misprinting.

Yeah thats exactly how i did it, found the problem on the internet which is a fantastic learning tool I mean look at us, they clearly made a mistake thanks for the help my friend.
