2. Hi kamie87,

One right,one wrong.

bjh

3. can u tell me which one and what im doing wrong??? please please please

4. ok the second one is majorly wrong.... can you tell me how to work it out? maybe a similar problem for practice?

5. if i do it on the calculator i get 4 3/8 but how do i work it out without a calculator?

6. $3 \frac{1}{8} \div \frac{5}{7}$

$\frac{25}{8} \div \frac{5}{7}
$

$\frac{25}{8} \times \frac{7}{5}$

$\frac{25 \times 7}{8 \times 5} = \frac{5 \times 7}{8 \times 1} = \frac{35}{8} = 4 \frac{3}{8}$

3 1/8 = 25/8 ; ok?

RULE: (a/b) / (c/d) = (a/b) * (d/c)

Wrap it up!

8. thankyou for the help...

and in the fourth line it changed from 25x7 to 5x7 and 8x5 to 8x1?? im a little lost to how that works sorry

$\displaystyle \frac{25 \times 7}{8 \times 5} = \frac{5 \times 5 \times 7}{8 \times 5}$

so ... what happens to one of the 5's in the numerator and denominator?
