I want to know how for instance, how to multiply/divide the following:

7 over 8 divided by negative 2
negative 7 times one over five

I could just use a calculator figure it out, but I do not know how to times a whole number by a fraction or divide them - please help me understand?

$\displaystyle\frac{\left(\frac{7}{8}\right)}{-2}=\frac{7}{8}\left(-\frac{1}{2}\right)=-\frac{7(1)}{8(2)}$

$\displaystyle\ -7\left(\frac{1}{5}\right)=-\frac{7}{1}\left(\frac{1}{5}\right)=-\frac{7}{5}$
