    Grade 11 word problem? (Quadratic equations)

    A caterer in quoting the charge for producing a dinner proposes the following terms. For a group of 60 people, he will charge $30 per person. For every extra 10 people, he will lower the price by $1.50 per person for the whole group. What size group does the caterer want to maximize his income?

    Help pls!!

    Thanks in advance

    let x = number of groups of 10 extra people over 60

    revenue = (price)(number of people)

    set up revenue as a function of x

    this is a revenue question

    let x represent any changes so set up the functions as followed:

    Revenue= price x quantity

    (60 + 10x)(30 - 1.50x)
    expand on this then since it want you to find the max income complete the square to get your answer

    hope this helped
