    Thanks

    If 6x - 3y = 30 and 4x = 2 - y then find x + y.
    Rewrite as,
    6x - 3y = 30
    4x + y = 2

Divide the first equation to -3 to get:
    -2x + y = - 10
    4x+y = 2

    Add these two together,
    2x + 2y = -8

    Divide by 2,
    x+y=-4
