    Food Math Word Problem

Teachers worked a fundraiser from 4:30-7:30 at McDonalds. Every 6
minutes, 27 hamburgers were sold. For every 18 hamburgers sold, 20 drinks were sold. Two apple pies were sold for every 12 hamburgers sold. How many burgers, drinks and apple pies were sold at McDonalds during the charity event?

    I converted 3 hours to 180 minutes, then I divided 180/6 and got 30. I multiplied 30(27)= 810 Hamburgers sold, then I divided 810/18 =45. Then I multiplied 45(20)= 900 drinks sold. Finally, I divided 810/12 = 67.5 (rounded down since you can't sell half a hamburger) 67(2)= 134 apple pies sold.

    810 Hamburgers
    900 Drinks
    134 Apple Pies

    Is this right?

    This is mostly correct.

    I would say apple pies = 2/12 * Hamburgers = 1/6* 810 = 135.
