    equation of lines of best fit problem

    The variable x and y are related by the equation y = kH^x, where k and H are constant.Diagram shows the straight line graph obtained by plotting log_4{y} against x


    a)express the equation in its linear form used to obtained the straight line graph shown in diagram.

    Well, what's your difficulty? We have that \log_4(kH^0)=2 and \log_4(kH^8)=6. From here one can find k and H.

    Actually, it seems that the answer to a) is the equation \log_4y=(6-2)x/8+2.
