    The variable $\displaystyle x $ and $\displaystyle y$ are related by the equation $\displaystyle y = kH^x$, where $\displaystyle k $ and $\displaystyle H$ are constant.Diagram shows the straight line graph obtained by plotting $\displaystyle log_4{y}$ against $\displaystyle x$


    a)express the equation in its linear form used to obtained the straight line graph shown in diagram.

    Well, what's your difficulty? We have that $\displaystyle \log_4(kH^0)=2$ and $\displaystyle \log_4(kH^8)=6$. From here one can find k and H.

    Actually, it seems that the answer to a) is the equation $\displaystyle \log_4y=(6-2)x/8+2$.
