# Math Help - Need a walkthrough for a quick Polynomial Multiplication worksheet problem

1. ## Need a walkthrough for a quick Polynomial Multiplication worksheet problem

Ok so basically Il open this up with a little about my situation here. So back when I was a teenager in High School I was able to do all sorts of equations in my sleep. Now I am grown up 15 years later trying to relearn everything starting from the basics. I learn quick mostly watching people solve problems in front of me then mimicing their pattern.

In my most prior classes we are now starting on Polynomial Multiplication. The teacher has so far taught us the First and Second Laws of exponents AND the Distributive Property. He has now given us an assignment with some questions I havent seen yet.

This is question #1.

(x³ - y² +12) -3[( x² - 6x + 10)+4]

Can anyone walk me through this one?

EDIT: Gah sorry this is my first time on the forum I believe I posted this in the entire wrong section SORRY.

2. I'm not seeing any polynomial multiplication in this problem, but this is what I got from it:

$(x^3-y^2+12)-3[(x^2-6x+10)+4]$

$(x^3-y^2+12)-3[x^2-6x+14]$

$(x^3-y^2+12)-3x^2+18x-42$

$x^3-y^2-3x^2+18x-30$

I believe this is as far simplified the expression can get.
