Simplifying some semi-complex exponent and fractions.
Been taking a discrete math course and run into a few algebraic equations that need simplifying and haven't delt with this stuff in a long time so thought I would ask for help. If you don't mind breaking it down and showing me how to do it or giving me a link with similar problems that have been simplified I would GREATLY appreciate it. You just telling me unfortunately wont help me any on a test so would like to learn it. By the way, we are solving for Y on all of them I just couldn't put them on the same line without it messing up the formatting.
Firstly I would like a answer check on this: Y =
3(x-1)+1
---------
2-(x-1)
which simplified should be: Y =
3x-2
-----
x+3
the above should be a negative fraction I just used the negative sign to make the bar so it doesn't show.
Here are a few others I am having trouble with:
#1 Y =
3x+1
------ - 1
2 - x
#2
Y = 2(5x-x2)
#3
Y = 5(2x) – (2x)2
Thanks in advance, I really would appreciate the help.
