    Complex Fraction Frustration

I'm supposed to simplify this complex fraction to equal X, but I just can't seem to find out how to get that to happen. I think my problem could be because I'm not getting the right LCD. I thought I could just multiply everything by x+3, but that didn't work.

    \frac{7}{\frac{7}{x+3}} -3

    \displaystyle\frac{7}{\frac{7}{x+3}}-3=\frac{\frac{7}{1}}{\frac{7}{x+3}}-3=x+3-3=x
