    translating English phrases into algebraic expressions

    Okay I am having problems with twice a number is increased by one-third the number the result is 42. So far I have 2x+1/3x=42 from there I am not sure how to solve this

     2x + \frac {1}{3} x = 42

    so multiply all by 3

     6x + x = 126
